ABOUT
Hi, I’m Lucia, and I’m glad you’re here! I created ALZA to bridge gaps and open opportunities for students, families, and businesses. With more than 25 years of combined experience in higher education, K–12 settings, social services, and project management, I bring a deep understanding of how people learn, grow, and succeed. As a bilingual professional, I also have extensive experience as a translator and interpreter in educational, legal, medical, and social service settings.
My leadership journey has included roles at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), where I served as Program Director of the Summer Academy for Math and Science (SAMS), Senior Assistant Director of CMU’s Advising Resource Center, and Senior Academic Advisor. During my time at CMU, I developed a strong partnership with the School of Computer Science, which propelled me to become a consultant for AI4ALL, where I worked to expand pre-college access to AI education.
Before beginning my career in higher education, I was a licensed social worker, supporting victims of domestic violence, assisting individuals experiencing homelessness, and leading various workforce development initiatives. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Education, and I am currently completing my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Duquesne University.

How are you different from other interpreters and translators?
We deeply value the professional relationships we build with every client, recognizing that no two situations are ever alike. That’s why our services are never “one-size-fits-all.” We take the time to carefully understand each client’s unique needs and goals, then design a tailored service plan that reflects our holistic approach, decades of expertise, and commitment to achieving meaningful outcomes.
Additionally, ALZA operates with full professional liability insurance to give our clients and partners peace of mind and confidence in the quality and reliability of our services.
How much does it cost to work with you?
The cost of our services is customized to your needs. Following an initial strategy call, we will provide a detailed service proposal that outlines the total cost of our services. Our offerings can be tailored à la carte, allowing you to select only the services you need, or as a comprehensive package designed to provide a full range of support.
