  • We partner with families, high school students, and college undergraduates to provide educational strategies to support academic achievement and career readiness. Our goal is to help students make informed decisions about their educational and career paths.

    For high school students:

    • Explore post-secondary options (Military, Trade / Technical Programs / Workforce / University).

    • Develop an effective strategy to pursue their selected post-secondary option. For example, job applications, FAFSA, applying for scholarships, etc.

    • Comprehensive editing services for important documents such as resumes, cover letters, and personal essays.

    For undergraduate students:

    • Develop a strategy for degree completion. This includes support to improve utilization of university services.

    • Coaching in preparation to transition into the workplace.

    • Comprehensive assistance with resumes, cover letters, interview preparation, and evaluation of employment offers.

Hello, I’m Lucia, and welcome to my page!

I created ALZA to bridge gaps and open opportunities for students, families, and businesses. A vision inspired by my own journey, lived experiences, and commitment to service. I invite you to learn more about me and how my extensive experience of over 25 years can serve you.

Let’s start a conversation.

  • I bring more than 25 years of blended experience in higher education, K–12 settings, social services, and project management. Over the course of my work, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how people learn, grow, and move toward success. As a bilingual professional, I also have extensive experience as a translator and interpreter in educational, legal, medical, and social service settings.

    My leadership journey has included roles at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), where I served as Program Director of the Summer Academy for Math and Science (SAMS), Senior Assistant Director of CMU’s Advising Resource Center, and Senior Academic Advisor. During my time at CMU, I developed a strong partnership with the School of Computer Science, which propelled me to become a consultant for AI4ALL, where I supported efforts to expand pre-college access to Artificial Intelligence (AI) education.

    Before beginning my career in higher education, I was a licensed social worker, supporting victims of domestic violence, assisting individuals experiencing homelessness, and leading various workforce development initiatives.

    Academically, I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, a Master’s Degree in Education, and I am in the final stages of completing my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Duquesne University.
